Living on the coast with my cat and my brain bulging with ideas, I take inspiration from my bucolic surroundings: the birds in my garden, the sheep down the lane, the hares in the fields, the sea. I have a very strong attraction to magical realism in its more humorous and quirky forms. I worked as a freelance illustrator for many years and recently made a foray into Public Art. The Norfolk and Norwich University hospital has given me numerous commissions to date and I have also worked for Birmingham and Scarborough hospitals. I love the work, it is so rewarding. I like to think of my work as decorative but having depth and the ability to make people stop and think.
