ABOUT THIS ARTWORK - ARTIST STATEMENT
I don't tend to get up early enough for the dawn but in winter the timing is just right and I
can see the wonderful changing colours from my bathroom window! I was determined to
use a powerful magenta to pick up the strong pinks and golds in the foreground. Isn't there
a line in Romeo and Juliet about the rosy-fingered dawn? I had a wonderful response to this
piece on facebook and I'm delighted to now be able to offer it as a giclee print. The original
was a monotype - a unique printed painting. I use rollers and dabbers to spread out the ink
then make marks with a cloth and other tools. I incorporate textured materials by
impressing inked up wallpaper and fabric.
This giclee reproduction is made to the highest standards on high quality paper. The
accuracy of colour to the original is first rate. It comes window mounted and carefully flat-
packed with 4 layers of twin-wall cardboard.
