Charlotte Strawbridge Art

Charlotte is a contemporary artist and writer, based in Stirlingshire. Her work is deeply rooted in the natural world, drawing inspiration from the rich flora and fauna of the British countryside, the rugged beauty of Scottish landscapes, and the inherent wisdom found in the 'peace of wild things’.

Charlotte works with oils, drawn to their versatile and textural qualities. Embracing the alla prima technique (‘at first attempt’ ), she tends to complete most of her pieces in a single session, aiming to capture the joy and freshness of passing moments in nature.

With each of her paintings, she creates illustrated thoughts from the animal’s perspective, inspiring contemplation on some big ideas. You can see some of these with her'When Beasts Spoke' range. With gentle and evocative short stories, she hopes to invite viewers to embark on a journey of mindfulness and gratitude, through observations on the little things in life, and the joys of nature.<p>

When Beasts Spoke' A collection of illustrated thoughts inspired by the quiet wisdom of the wild.

From the animal’s perspective, these thoughts inspire contemplation on some big ideas, in gentle short stories. From lessons on mindfulness, self-love, and gratitude, to observations on the little things and the joys of nature.

Once upon a time, when beasts spoke and people were silent, there lay a valley so deeply full of love that all the beings in the world knew of its magic.

Each leaf had been gently blessed, each tree was rooted in ancient wisdom, and the entire valley was blanketed in whispering woodlands.

. Creatures roamed the land to learn of love and all its wonders.'
