Hebridean Summer by Jane Smith

Having travelled the world to make wildlife films for the BBC NHU and National Geographic, Jane has now settled on the west coast of Scotland where she uses painting and print-making to express her thoughts about the natural world.

Artist notes Arctic Terns. High summer on the Outer Hebrides, and I found this noisy tern colony. The adults would swoop in with tiny fish for their chicks, then fly back to the sea for more. Strange to think that in winter they're fishing off the Antarctic pack-ice.
