Thames Riverside By Celia Hart

Paladian houses and churches line the bans of London's great river. This is a detail of a large linocut inspired by the Arcadian Thames. Since the 18th century London's Arcadia – a historic landscape of parks, palaces, meadows and woodland that frames the meandering river at Richmond upon Thames – has been an inspiration for poets, artists and composers. Arcadia is now the setting for the Conchord Festival, an international festival of chamber music.
