The Pond - A Garden for Wildlife card by Hannah Longmuir

‘The Pond’ is a wonderful colourful drawing all about the benefits of having a pond in your garden. It features two frogs peaking above the surface of the water; a super cute duckling; an elegant pink and white water lily; mayflies; and an iris. A body of water in the garden – no matter how small – is probably the best thing you can do for wildlife in your garden. It provides bathing and drinking water for birds and animals; breeding grounds for frogs, newts and toads, as well as caddis flies, damselflies, dragonflies, mayflies, pond skaters, snails and water beetles. A pond is a complex habitat of algae, plants, scavengers, predators, herbivores and decomposers.
