On the Mynd by Jon Young

Jon started his artistic life working for commercial print companies and his painting took a back seat. Recently, he’s found that the flexibility and bright, bold colours of the previously untried medium of acrylics has encouraged him to paint again. Like the Geography graduate he is, Jon has a sense of place, with space and light having a big impact on his work. His main influences come from an appreciation of the environment in general and in particular, Scottish colourists both old and new. Jon is a member of the SAA – the Society for All Artists – the UK’s leading art hub and lives in rural Shropshire.
